Mrs Wee & Mr Poo

A Toilet Training Story

Common Questions

It works for both.  If your little one is too small for the toilet then make a point of taking Mrs Wee & Poo in the potty to the toilet together and flushing them down the loo whilst cheering “weee!”.

Once they’re ready to sit on the loo tell your child that Mrs Wee & Mr Poo are feeling brave enough to go straight into the toilet – they think it’ll be more fun to jump straight in! (no waiting in the potty).

It’s a myth that daytime toilet training helps with nighttime dryness.  There’s a hormone called Vasopressin that naturally reduces the production of urine during sleep.  Check out more info on bedwetting and nighttime dryness in my Top 10 Potty Training Tips for Parents.

We’ve had a number of parents get in touch to say that it has helped.  Usually it’s because the child is worried about sitting on the toilet for a long time, or is emotionally attached to their poo.

Only when the constipation is caused by withholding.  The longer the stool is held back the dryer it gets.  I’m writing a new book called “Mr Poo Got Stuck”, in the meantime, the best way to prevent constipation is to keep your child well hydrated.  More info on the benefits of hydration in my Top 10 Potty Training Tips for Parents

Potty training refusal is all about control. Try giving your child more choices in day to day life and step back on the potty training until the barrage of “No’s” has calmed down.  Read about potty training refusal in my Top 10 Potty Training Tips for Parents.

To the majority of English speaking countries, yes.  If your country isn’t on the list, just get in touch and we’ll sort something out. Alternatively, you can read the book on Amazon Kindle worldwide.

Yes, it’s available in most countries on Kindle.  Free to read with Kindle Unlimited, or £1.99 to purchase in the UK.  Prices vary internationally.

Absolutely yes. The NHS has a blanket licence with the Copyright Licence Agency, contact your local NHS librarian, and visit the CLA website for more information.  If you want to bulk order books, then I’m happy to provide a mahoosive discount and work with purchase orders and invoices.

Yes, I have a number of options for nurseries.

You can purchase a very affordable annual licence to print and photocopy a pdf of the book. This would enable you to print the story for parents of children struggling with potty training, create a large copy for story time, or display the illustrations around the setting.  Alternatively, you can purchase multiple copies at a discount and sell them at face value in reception.

Yes, of course.  Shipping is included in the price, so just adjust the quantity before checkout.  If you’d like to order multiples for resale then please visit the page for bricks & mortar booksellers for discounts at 10 copies or more.

This website is the cheapest place to buy the book, however you can also get it from Amazon, eBay and some High Street Bookshops.  Either way, it’ll come from me as it’s a self-published work.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been asked this! Honestly, it’s just how the meter and rhyme worked best when I was writing it!  At 2-3 years of age children have very little awareness of gender or diversity. No gender stereotyping here 😂😂😂 My immediate family is extraordinarily diverse!

Rachel Gristock - Author of Mrs Wee & Mr Poo, A Toilet Training Story
About the Author

Rachel Gristock

Born in the United States to Welsh parents, Rachel was shipped back to the UK before she was out of diapers to Wales, the land of green valleys, song and rainstorms.

Rachel wrote the story in 2015 as a poem reward chart for her first child to explain the idea of going to the toilet in a way that her toddler could understand.

After years of relentless nagging by her lovely mum, she published the book with the help of Paul Winward whose illustrations gave Mrs Wee & Mr Poo the fun and friendly faces we see today.

Rachel is now living in sunny Folkestone with her two lovely children and a rather nervous shih tzu called Bella.
